World-renowned actress and singer Lucia Mendez's professional career is as impressive as it is compelling. She made TV history when millions watched her in Tú o Nadie (You or No One), the first Mexican soap opera to reach 100 points in the measured audience ratings. Her successful TV career also includes hits such as El Extraño Retorno de Diana Salazar (Diana Salazar’s Strange Return), Colorina , Paloma and Viviana, among many others.
Her contributions to the world of cinema are also remarkable, with leading roles in Los Hijos de Sánchez (Sanchez’s Sons, playing alongside Anthony Quinn and Dolores del Rio) and El Ministro y Yo (The Minister and Me, featuring the legendary late comedian Mario "Cantinflas" Moreno).
Ms. Mendez has also managed to accomplish a thriving career as a singer. Nominated twice for a Grammy Award, she has packed the house at places like New York's Madison Square Garden, Miami's James L. Knight Center, Puerto Rico's Bellas Artes and Los Angeles' Universal Amphitheater.
In 2003, Lucia Mendez graciously stepped forward to be an awards presenter at the Premios Fox Sports awards show, which selected IKF as its charity of choice, and has since supported IKF in its quest to make a difference in children’s lives.
