Name: Ana Maria Ogazon
Age: 1 years old
Country: Mexico
Diagnosis: Laryngomalacia
Estimated Cost: $100,000.00
Ana Maria of Mexico has been fighting for her life since she was eight days old. Because her larynx and trachea tissues did not develop properly, it is nearly impossible for her to breathe, so tiny Ana Maria must gasp for each breath, often turning blue. This is a terrifying ordeal for her parents, but now there is hope. Ana Maria’s father is an employee of FedEx in Mexico and as soon as Juan N. Cento, President for FedEx Latin America and Chairman to the IKF board of directors, heard of her plight, he rushed in to assist the family by sponsoring a significant portion of her treatment. FedEx employees have been working hard at raising funds and trying to help this little member of their “FedEx family”. She already had her first surgery at Holtz Children’s Hospital, even though further surgery and treatments will be necessary. Until the surgeries and treatments are complete, Ana Maria’s parents must live with the fear that her next episode may be fatal. Your donation, added to the generous sponsorship provided by FedEx, will give Ana Maria a better chance for survival. Click here to make a donation

Shivan Jhagroo, Our First Gift of Life Child

For the first time since his birth, nine-month old Shivan Jhagroo can breathe normally. And with their son’s life no longer at risk, his parents can breathe easier too. The holes in the valves of Shivan’s heart were successfully repaired at UM/Jackson Memorial Center through the partnership of IKF, Holtz Children’s Hospital and the Florida Rotary Gift of Life program. From their home in Trinidad & Tobago, Shivan’s parents send their gratitude for this critical surgery that truly did give them the gift of their son’s life.
