Absentee Bid Form

Terms & Conditions
IMPORTANT INFORMATION PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING

1) All items are donated. Auction Coordinators are not responsible for the quality, condition, availability, description, etc. of the pieces. Jackson Memorial Foundation’s International Kids Fund expressly disclaim any and all warranties concerning auction items, and bidders agree to release Jackson Memorial Foundation from all claims or liability arising from their ownership or use. Be sure to read the “Bid Procedure” prior to bidding

Jackson Memorial Foundation is a Section 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization. If you submit a winning bid, you may be entitled to a charitable deduction for federal tax purposes to the extent allowed by the tax laws. The amount of the deduction (if any) will depend on the fair market value of the item you win.  Please consult your tax advisor for specific tax advice on the amount of any charitable deduction you may be entitled to by reason of your participation in the online auction.

2) Auction coordinators are not professional auctioneers! Decisions regarding final bid awards, final bid winners and functions of the auction are at the discretion of the auction coordinators. We will try to resolve problems quickly and fairly, but our decisions are final. We reserve the right to disqualify any bidder not participating in the spirit in which the auction is intended.

3) By registering and bidding, you agree to pay the bid amount. Once a bid is posted, it cannot be removed, so bid wisely.  We will begin awarding unclaimed items to the second-highest bidders Oct. 14, 2008. Items can be picked up and payment made to Jackson Memorial Foundation. No piece will be distributed until payment is received. Contact auction coordinator Jossie Aguirre or email jaguirre@med.miami.edu with questions regarding payment.

4) If you cannot pick up the item yourself, we will arrange for it to be shipped to you. Unless otherwise noted, all shipping and handling costs are the responsibility of the buyer, and must be prepaid before shipping.

Bidding will begin 09-16-2008 8:00am Eastern Standard Time (EST) and will continue 24 hours a day ending 10-12-2008 at 11:59pm.

6) Auction Coordinators are not responsible for ISP problems which may temporarily interrupt bidding. To report bidding problems contact Chi Wong by email at jaguirre@med.miami.edu
